GREENE, DEMITO, RATLIFF WIN FINAL EVENT IN MIROCK SERIES
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – Barry Greene of Hinesville, Ga., beat Angie McBride in a classic final round to win the featured Schnitz Outlaw Pro Street title at the Lee's Performance Fall Bike Nationals, last of the eight events in the 2004 Mickey Thompson Performance Tires
MiRock Superbike Series jointly hosted by Rockingham Dragway and Maryland International Raceway.

Although he was quickest in every round of competition, Greene was tested in the final when McBride, a former NHRA Pro Stock rider from Lewisville, N.C., got a brief starting line advantage before losing it at half track.  Greene won going away, covering the Rockingham quarter mile in 7.127 seconds to 7.260 for McBride.

Other winners at the event that drew 430 entries included Vincent Demito of Collegeville, Pa, in the Orient Express 60-Inch Sport Bike class; Shane Ratliff of Roseville, Mich., in the popular Heavyweights category for riders weighing 240 pounds or more; and Mark Eckles of Statesville, N.C., in the Honda-Suzuki of Sanford 5.60 Heads-Up.

Greene's Outlaw Pro Street victory didn't play a role in determining the season champion in the featured category.  That came down to a second round showdown between Tony Girardi of Hollywood, Fla., and Chris Moore of Greer, S.C.  Girardi came into the season finale trailing Moore by a single point, but his second round win enabled him to move around the Carolina rider for the title.

The most impressive of the winners was Demito, who took out No. 1 qualifier and series champion Mike Slow of Bensalem, Pa., in the semifinals and No. 2 qualifier John Flood of Oakland, N.Y., in the final.

Ratliff beat new series champion Ehren Litten of Lewisburg, N.C., in the semifinals en route to his Heavyweights victory, shutting Litten out of the final rounds at Rockingham for the first time in 2004.

Stanley Russell of Gray, Ga., and Carl Lucas of Wilson, N.C., were the Pro Bracket winners.  Russell also won Sunday's Street Bracket.  Racing was suspended late Saturday night in the first of the Street Bracket races and the money was divided among Tammy Stewart of Richmond, Va., Dazz Allen of Springfield, Va., Bernard Varner of Akron, Ohio and Louis "Kip" Green of Baltimore, Md.
