SERIES:
8 event points series run at
Rockingham Dragway and Maryland
International Raceway.
DESIGNATION:
All entrants must display, on both
sides of the bike, the class
designation T/S, preceded by rider
number.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Designed for late model, fuel
injected, street-legal sport bikes
with limited modifications. All
bikes must be powered by a water-
cooled engine and have come with
fuel injection from the factory.
To
promote equitable competition
despite a wide array of different
rider weights,
True Street will have different
wheelbase requirements for riders
of different body weight.
FORMAT:
Races will be a qualified 16-bike
field. Qualifying and eliminations
will be heads-up, run on a .400
pro tree, with all pro class rules
in effect. Alternates will not be
used unless a race official
disqualifies a rider. If a rider
is broke, alternates will not be
used. Alternates must have
completed at least one legal
qualifying attempt and pass the
“weigh in” in order to be eligible
for alternate status. All
non-qualifiers will be allowed to
compete in a second 16-bike
qualified field. This will allow
racers to compete with other
competitors of similar
performance.
MISSION STATEMENT:
“OEM factory stock” means that the
part must have been available for
year, make, and model of
motorcycle (i.e., If a rule says
OEM factory stock part is
required, then you cannot replace
a part from a different year
motorcycle or a different model or
a different brand bike). Any racer
that exploits any grey areas in
the rules or debates with creative
rule interpretations, the part in
question will be deemed illegal.
All racers need to construct their
bikes within the spirit of these
rules.
FRAME:
OEM factory stock frames must be
used, and cannot be modified in
any way. VIN #s must be on frame
and readable. OEM factory stock
sub-frame must be used, and cannot
be modified in any way. Powder
coating, painting, and polishing
of frame or sub-frame are
permitted. Aftermarket “inner
fenders” can be bolted to subframe
for more tire clearance.
FRONT SUSPENSION:
OEM factory stock bearings/races,
lower triple clamp, axle, and
forks required (none of these
parts can be swapped with
different year or model
motorcycles). Aftermarket top
triple clamp is permitted, but
must retain factory offset. Forks
may be internally lowered, cut,
and shortened. Rigid front forks
not allowed, a minimum of 1” of
front suspension travel
recommended. Steering dampers
recommended, and may be required
in the future. Front-end lowering
retention straps are permitted.
REAR SUSPENSION:
OEM factory stock shock must be
used. Aftermarket springs may be
used and shock
may be re-valved
within stock body of shock.
Aftermarket dogbones and
suspension links are permitted.
GROUND CLEARANCE:
All components, including
bodywork, must have a minimum of 2
inches of static ground clearance
for nitrous entries, and 3 inches
of static ground clearance for
turbocharged entries.
All bikes in True
Street will be required to be at
3” ground clearance by 2009
(revised 5-7-08).
Static ground clearance
measurements will be taken with
rider seated on bike, hands on
handlebars, and feet forward with
heels only contacting the ground.
(Dynamic Ground Clearance: Ground
clearance during the run, or
dynamic ground clearance,
constantly changes due to tire
flex/growth, suspension movement,
chassis and swingarm flex, etc.
Because of the many variables
involved in actual ground
clearance during the run, there is
no reasonable method to measure
this value. Static ground
clearance, or ground clearance
with the bike sitting stationary,
is the only defined measure for
ground clearance. However, in the
interest of safety, any entrant
observed by the MIROCK technical
staff to have an unsafe amount of
dynamic ground clearance may be
required to alter their bike or
setup, even if they pass the
static ground clearance
measurement. This may be done at
any time during the event, and the
manner or methods of these
alterations will be determined on
a case-by-case basis).
SWINGARMS:
Swingarm-style rear suspension
required. Any stock, modified
stock, or aftermarket swingarms
will be allowed. Bolt-on
extensions are not permitted.
Chain guards are required on all
entries.
BRAKES:

stock plastic. Upper fairing
bracket must be stock and
unmodified. Aftermarket extended
tail sections are permitted, but
must utilize stock hump or rear
seat (solo tails are not
permitted). Gas tank must be OEM
factory stock, and cannot be
modified in any way. Side fairings
may be trimmed for ground
clearance, clutch cover, and
exhaust clearance only (however
3/4 or 1/2 side fairings are not
permitted). Any OEM body parts or
frame tabs used for body mounts on
the bottom that effect ground
clearance may be removed (i.e.,
lower wings in front of rear
tire). The entire body must be in
stock location. Aftermarket
windscreens allowed. Aftermarket
gas caps allowed. All bodywork
must be stock paint job, or custom
painted (no primered parts
allowed).
LIGHTS: OEM factory stock
headlight system (including low
beam and high beam) is required
and cannot be modified. OEM
factory brake light (including
tail light and brake light) is
required. All lights must be on
during all qualifying and
elimination runs.
SEATS:
All motorcycles must have an OEM
factory stock seat pan mounted in
the original location. The seat
can be re-upholstered to allow the
rider to sit lower in the seat,
but the seat pan cannot be
modified. Some type of fabric must
cover the seat pan.
ENGINE:
Any internal engine modifications
are allowed. Engine swaps from
different year models are
permitted, but motor must bolt
into stock unaltered frame.
Aftermarket blocks are prohibited.
Dry sumps are prohibited. Stock
oil pan is permitted and may be
shortened, but drain bolt must be
re-located to side of oil pan. If
an aftermarket pan is being
utilized, then it must be a
minimum of 1.5” deep on all
corners of pan, and cannot be
tapered or shortened.
CLUTCH:
Slider clutches and lock-up
clutches of any kind are
prohibited. Clutch baskets, slave
cylinders, and pressure plates can
be switched between different year
motorcycles. Billet clutch baskets
and inner hubs are permitted.
Modification of clutch to
eliminate factory style
back-torque cam assembly is
permitted.
TRANSMISSIONS:
All entrants must utilize an
OEM-style shift drum, shift forks,
and transmission. Shift drum must
fit into unmodified OEM engine
cases. Transmission components may
be modified or replaced with
aftermarket components of a
similar design and function.
“Automatic,” no-kill or
override-shift style transmissions
not allowed. No components may be
used that are designed to allow
the transmission to be
simultaneously engaged in more
than one gear. This includes, but
is not exclusive to, windowed
shift drums, split shift drums,
split forks, split gears, split
fork sliders rings, gear or fork
detent and/or return springs, etc.
Any entrant with any of these
components is considered to have
an automatic transmission, even if
a fuel cut, ignition cut, or
ignition retard is being utilized.
STARTING SYSTEM:
Battery must remain in OEM factory
stock location. A second battery
is permitted but must be mounted
behind or next to
the stock battery location in the
sub frame. Push starts are not
permitted.

motorcycles. Wheels must have been
available for year, make, and
model of motorcycle. Wheels can be
painted, powder coated, or
polished (no significant amount of
metal can be removed). Ceramic
wheel bearings are permitted.
FUEL INJECTION:
OEM factory stock throttle bodies
and fuel injectors are required
for year and model motorcycle
depicted by VIN# (throttle bodies
and injectors with 1 per cylinder,
cannot be swapped with 2 per
cylinder). Fuel injectors cannot
be modified in any way. Throttle
bodies may be bored to a larger
size. Aftermarket throttle plates,
fuel pumps, regulators, filters,
fuel lines, and fuel rails are
permitted. Secondary throttle
plates (if originally equipped)
may be modified, deactivated, or
removed.
EXHAUST:
Any type exhaust is permitted.
FUEL:
Gasoline only is permitted. E85,
nitro methane, and alcohol are
prohibited.
Electrical:
OEM Factory stock ECU and wiring
harness is required (ECU and
wiring harness can be swapped

motorcycle from the side or rear
of the bike, away from air
intake). Fuel solenoids are
prohibited. A progressive nitrous
controller is permitted. Nitrous
cannot be combined with a
turbocharger.
TURBOCHARGERS:
Entrants running a turbocharger
are limited to one turbocharger,
with a maximum inlet housing
diameter of 54.5 mm. This
measurement is to be taken at the
point on the inlet housing where
the leading edge of the compressor
wheel meets the inlet housing. All
air entering the turbo must pass
through this opening.
Turbochargers are not allowed
inlet air-cooling. Water injection
and intercoolers are not
permitted.
Any type of boost controller is

late!). See the tech official for
location of weigh-in. Riders will
only be allowed to wear one pair
of underwear, one pair of shorts,
one short-sleeved shirt, and one
pair of socks while being weighed
in (Shoes, jewelry, hats, watches,
etc. must be removed, and all
pockets must be empty). Riders
will be weighed in the order of
final qualifying, and will not be
given a second attempt to weigh-in
if they are light. Any rider that
fails to pass their minimum weight
(even if your only one pound
light) will be disqualified. Any
rider that does not show up or is
late for the weigh-in will be
disqualified. Any rider caught
attempting to hide ballast on
their person will be disqualified
from the event and will face a
one-year suspension from MIROCK.
RULE REVISIONS:
In order to maintain a level
playing field, MIROCK will monitor
the performance numbers of the
numerous combinations of rider
weights and power adders found in
this class. From time to time, it
may be necessary to adjust the
wheelbase, ground clearance and
weights to help promote class
parity. Racers should take this
into consideration when
constructing their bikes, and
should allow room in their
swingarms, bodywork, fenders, etc.
for changes in wheelbase and
ground clearance. Any rule
revisions deemed necessary by
MIROCK would be officially posted
a minimum of 14 days prior to the
event in which they become
effective. The official rules
effective for any event will be
those posted on the MIROCK website
on the day that event begins. Any
rule revision deemed necessary for
the reasons of safety may be made
at any time, even after the start
of an event, and may be made
effective immediately. |
